Trooper A.B. Carter said Saturday’s snowfall in central North Carolina contributed to the wreck that killed 73-year-old Ellen Goins Terry on December 4, 2010.
Around 3:30 p.m., David Howard Morton IV, 18, of Ridgeway, Virginia lost control of his pickup truck and crossed the centerline of Price Road near Eden, NC. Mr. Morton hit a vehicle driven by Teresa Jean Goins, 47, of Eden almost head-on. The collision resulted in Ellen Goins Terry’s death.
Mr. Morton and Teresa Jean Goins were treated at Morehead Memorial Hospital. No charges have been filed, and drugs and alcohol are not noted as contributing factors.
