A grandmother in Wilmington was rushing her 1-year-old grandchild to a local hospital when she ran a red light and struck another car. The accident resulted in the grandmother’s death on December 6, 2010.
Her grandchild, who was bleeding heavily after being bit in the face by a dog, is receiving treatment in the intensive care unit at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
The driver and two passengers in the can that collided with the grandmother’s car did not sustain serious injuries.
