Abernethy Village, a dormitory complex at Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina, was evacuated on September 15, 2010 due to a bedbug infestation. One hundred twenty students were forced to evacuate as exterminators tried to manage the situation. A recent resurgence of bedbugs has affected dormitories at several other colleges in North Carolina, including Wake Forest University and Wesleyan College, this year.
