Rontay Clark Ejected, Killed in Crash that Injured 6 More in Eden, NC

The NC Highway Patrol suspects that alcohol and excessive speed contributed to a fatal wreck just outside of Eden, North Carolina during the early hours of Sunday, October 24, 2010.

Rontay Douglas Clark, 23, was ejected from a 2004 Dodge Durango when it ran off Virginia Avenue in Rockingham County and overturned. He died on impact at the scene of the accident.

The driver, Dominic Eugene Foote, 26, of Greensboro, was also thrown from the SUV. He remains in critical condition at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

Five other passengers, ages 14, 15, 18, 19 and 32, have been treated at Morehead Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The 15-year-old was the only person inside the vehicle wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
