On Behalf of | Aug 10, 2010 | Car Accidents |

Jeffrey Wayne Beck of Thomasville, North Carolina was the unlucky passenger in an automobile accident near Trinity that resulted in his death on August 7, 2010.

Teresa Lynn Lequire, also of Thomasville, was negligent while driving Mr. Beckís Ford Explorer SUV. According the accident report, Ms. Lequire ran off the road to the right and struck a street sign after going through a ditch. The Ford Explorer overturnedóas they are notorious for doingóand hit a fire hydrant before finally coming to a stop. Sadly, Mr. Beck was ejected from the Ford Explorer during the rollover.

Ford Explorers frequently overturn due to top-heaviness and their alleged poor design. In fact, numerous lawsuits have been brought against Ford Motor Company because of the dangers of these SUVs. One woman brought a lawsuit against Ford and was awarded $82.6 million in damages after an accident in a Ford Explorer that left her paralyzed. Perhaps if Ms. Lequire had not been driving a Ford Explorer, the tragic outcome of this accident would have been different.
