Hit and Run Ends in Death Near Reidsville, NC

On Behalf of | Sep 13, 2010 | Car Accidents |

Regardless of the time of day or type of roadway, people driving cars should be on the lookout for pedestrians under any and all circumstances.

Juan Vega, 32, was walking along N.C. 150 near Reidsville, North Carolina on the evening of Saturday, September 11, 2010 when he was struck by an unknown motorist. The accident resulted in Mr. Vega’s death. The driver—who witnesses heard scream—fled the scene after observing the Mr. Vega’s body.

The driver in this tragic accident probably assumed she would face legal charges because of the accident. But until an automobile accident has been fully investigated, it cannot be said who was negligent.

At any rate, no driver should ever flee the scene of an accident involving a pedestrian (or any accident, for that matter!) Pedestrians who have been struck require immediate care, and any driver involved should be prepared and willing to provide whatever assistance is necessary to help an injured person.

The driver in this case may or may not be civilly liable for Mr. Vega’s death, but when she’s caught, she will be charged with Hit and Run—a felony.
