Mary Joyner is lucky to have lost nothing more than her car during a crash that happened on the evening of November 9, 2010.

Ms. Joyner says she was driving down Highway 421 in Lewisville, North Carolina when she noticed a tractor-trailer ahead of her beginning to waver.

Suddenly, the fork from a forklift fell from the tractor-trailer.

“I thought it was going to go through the windshield and hit me,” Ms. Joyner said in an interview for an article on myfox8.com.

She swerved and managed to avoid hitting the fork, but collided with a guardrail instead.

Ms. Joyner suffered minor injuries. Her right eye is swollen and she’s sore throughout her body.

The drier of the tractor-trailer—who should have stopped when he noticed his cargo was unsteady—failed to stop at all. He is suspected to be the employee of an Oregon-based trucking company.
