A student was walking to the bus stop in Davidson County just south of Lexington, NC before 7:00 a.m. on the morning of October 20, 2010. The Central Davidson County Middle School student was struck by a vehicle before reaching the designated bus stop.
The student was transported to Lexington Hospital by EMS before being moved to Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.
Charges will not be filed against the motorist because authorities claim the student was dressed in dark clothes and walking down the street when it was still dark outside.
