Robert Griffin Previtte Jr. killed in collision in Greensboro, N.C.

Robert Griffin Previtte Jr. was killed Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010 when his motorcycle collided with an SUV on Tower Road in Greensboro, North Carolina. The passenger on the motorcycle, Debra Voncannon Smith, suffered critical injuries and was hospitalized at Moses Cone Hospital.

Previtte was driving a 2007 Harley-Davidson east on Tower Road Saturday evening, according to a report in the News & Record. A 1998 Toyota 4-Runner driven by Alexander David Earle was traveling west. At about 6:05 p.m., according to police, Earle attempted to turn left into an apartment complex, when the motorcycle and the Toyota collided.

Previtte was taken to Moses Cone Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police are continuing to investigate the wreck.
