Scott Robert Striano, 42, was with friends on a fishing trip to Kitty Hawk, a town on North Carolina’s Outer Banks, when he was hit by two vehicles and killed during the night on September 25, 2010. Striano was crossing U.S. Highway 158, also known as Croatan Highway, after leaving Longboards Island Grill to use an ATM at a 7-Eleven across the highway. A pedestrian, Striano was hit by one motorist before landing in the road and suffering another hit by a different car. Kitty Hawk police Sergeant J.C. Johnson said neither driver was suspected of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and that charges will not be filed against them.
