Biography
Richard Allen holds degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, New York University, and Duke Law School. A Virginia native, he has lived in North Carolina for over 20 years.
He began his career at a Washington, DC firm, where he practiced insurance and bankruptcy law. He went on to practice as a solo attorney for a decade, representing plaintiffs in employment discrimination, civil rights, and business litigation. Notably, he represented a whistleblower in a False Claims Act case against a North Carolina university for misuse of federal grant funds that resulted in a six figure settlement.
Since joining Egerton Law, he has focused his practice entirely on fighting insurance companies on behalf of injured North Carolinians.
