On Behalf of | Jan 14, 2011 | Car Accidents |

John Jamie Kennedy was speeding and driving while impaired when he failed to reduce speed and struck another vehicle on Fairfield Road in High Point, NC on January 9, 2011.

Mark Call, his wife, Beverly Call, and their granddaughter, Peyton McKenzie Call, were the rear-ended victims.

Mr. and Mrs. Call were transported to High Point Regional Hospital. Fortunately, their injuries were non-life threatening.

Their granddaughter, who is only 2-years-old, was taken to Winston-Salem where she was in critical condition at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. When she was released from the hospital, Peyton had serious injuries, including “a fracture, black eye and bruises on her legs,” her mother, Candace Drexler, said in an article on myfox8.com.

Mr. Kennedy had fled the scene at the time of the collision. Luckily, police found him later at a private residence in Archdale. Mr. Kennedy faces a host of charges: driving while impaired (DWI), driving while his license was revoked, failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a stolen license plate, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. His felony charges are: serious injury by motor vehicle, three counts of hit-and-run. Additionally, Mr. Kennedy had three outstanding warrants for probation violation.

Hopefully, Mark Call, Beverly Call, and their young granddaughter, Peyton, will each recovery fully and quickly.
