Another N.C. A&T official fired over track tryout death

In another development in the case of the N.C. A&T University student who died after collapsing at a sports tryout, A&T has fired an associate athletics director and suspended its head trainer. Jospin “Andre” Milandu died after collapsing at a track-and-field tryout on Aug. 19, 2010. In October, the N.C. Medical Examiner’s Office cited complications of sickle cell trait and physical exertion as the cause of his death.

UPDATE: E-mail asked to omit sickle cell tests before N.C. A&T athlete’s death

On August 19, 2010, Jospin “Andre” Milandu, a 20-year-old student at N.C. A&T in Greensboro, North Carolina, died after collapsing on the university track during a track team tryout. Now disturbing news has surfaced that indicates that A&T coaches were asked to forgo sickle cell tests for students who were trying out for a team.

N.C. A&T student Jospin Milandu dies after collapsing at track tryout

Jospin Milandu, a 20-year-old student at N.C. A&T in Greensboro, North Carolina died Monday, Aug. 16, 2010 after collapsing on the university track during a track team tryout. Milandu, a sophomore from Knightdale, N.C., was taken to Moses Cone Hospital, where doctors determined he died from complications of an elevated heart rate.

Company Expands Beef Recall - Withholds Key Information From Public

CNN is reporting the expansion of a recall by JBS Swift Beef Company of Greeley Colorado. The initial recall last week involved about 41,000 lbs of beef possibly contaminated with E. coli.
