Police Pursue George Earl Johnson; Chase Ends in 2 Car Crashes

Burlington motorcyclist struck at intersection, airlifted to hospital

Randy Gene Ector Jr., age 28, was airlifted to UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill after his motorcycle was struck by a car on Sunday, February 20, in Burlington, North Carolina. The driver of the car, Glenda Fay Brown, 43, was cited with failure to yield the right-of-way.

Distracted driving accident leaves grandfather, mother dead; 1-year-old critical

Police say that Sharai Bauer, 18, was speeding when she struck and killed grandfather Ji Sheng Lu and mother Jing Lu and injured her 1-year-old child on Wednesday morning, February 9, 2011 in southwest Charlotte, North Carolina. Bauer of Clemmons was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.

Arrest made in hit-and-run that killed horse, injured two riders

Timothy George Hardin has been arrested on suspicion of being the driver in the hit-and-run accident that severely injured Carlee Shay Jones and James Cody Burke and killed Jones’s horse near Cherryville, North Carolina, on Sunday, January 30, 2011. The circumstances of this incident suggest there were factors that could have contributed to why the driver fled the scene, one being that the driver might have had a revoked license.
